Gregory Alan Thacker

Greg Thacker is a civil trial lawyer who is passionate about the law, his clients and providing personal attention to each of his clients in order to make the legal process as stress free as possible while achieving the best possible outcome. Greg litigates all types of injury cases including car accidents, commercial trucking accidents, general negligence, slip and fall accidents, motorcycle accidents, biking accidents, defective products and wrongful death cases.

Greg was born and raised in Clearwater, Florida and comes from a long line of Florida attorneys including his great grandfather, grandfather and grandmother who were all attorneys in Kissimmee, Florida. His father and brother are also established attorneys in Pinellas County, Florida.

Greg graduated from Clearwater High School in 1998. He attended college at the University of Central Florida. After college, he attended law school at Stetson University College of Law. While at Stetson, Greg received the top grade in several of his courses including Real Property, Trusts and Estates, Evidence and Trial Advocacy. He was awarded the Melvyn Trute P.A. Trust award and graduated Cum Laude in 2006. While in law school, Greg interned at the Pinellas County State Attorney’s office where he was certified to take misdemeanor cases to trial before a jury prior to even graduating from law school. This is when he fell in love with being in the courtroom and trying cases before a judge and jury.

After working as a prosecutor for three years, Greg left the State Attorney’s Office to go into private practice where his focus was the practice of family law. He continued his experience of regularly being in the courtroom as lead trial counsel on numerous family law cases including complex child custody, divorce, paternity, domestic violence injunction, business valuation, asset valuation and dependency related matters. He handled numerous multi-million dollar divorce cases with highly complex family law and business related issues. Additionally, he personally handled and won several appeals before the 2nd District Court of Appeals including giving oral argument before the appellate court. Several of the family law judges in the sixth judicial circuit appointed Greg to act as a pro bono Guardian Ad Litem on behalf of children involved in highly contentious family law matters where he acted as a voice for the children and made recommendations to the court regarding various child related issues.

Greg Thacker is a Life Member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum which are limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts, awards and settlements. Fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members. 

After practicing family law for over seven years, Greg decided he wanted to invest his efforts in a new area of law. He always had an interest in being a litigator in the area of personal injury law and he accepted a position at an established personal injury law firm in Pinellas County, Florida. There he handled numerous personal injury matters and fell in love with the area of law and helping guide his clients to get healthy again and obtaining the compensation they deserve for their injuries.

With a strong desire to personally handle all aspects of his client’s cases, Greg left the firm he was with to start Thacker and Mulvihill, PLLC, P.A. in July of 2019. Greg’s goal is to work directly with his clients from the date he meets them through the conclusion of their case. All of Greg’s clients are given his personal cell phone number so he can be available to them at all times.

Being injured through no fault of your own is a life changing experience. Greg wants to minimize the stress of bringing a claim or lawsuit so his clients can focus on getting better. The slogan “Let Thacker Be Your Backer” means Greg will personally have your back throughout all aspects of your case so you can focus on getting better while Greg handles the rest.

When Greg is not practicing law he enjoys spending time with his wife of over 15 years and their two daughters, dog, cats, bearded dragon and foster birds and squirrels.
